The Pennsylvania Board of Tourism is
using Blogs to promote roadtripping in their state. Its a polished example of just how unscary the blog format can be. What do I mean, "unscary"?
When most nonprofit organizations I've talked to hear the term blog as a strategy for achieving their goals, the knee-jerk reaction is fear (at worst), trepidation (at least).
There's obviously exceptions, but for the most part they shout, "But we can't control our message!". The Pennsylvania Board of Tourism site proves blogs can be pretty unscary, pretty controlled - and align nicely with both your message and your mission.
For my money, the PA site may even err on the side of too contrived.
Check it out and let me know what you think. Would this approach work for your organzation?
