We've finalized our topics for our 2008 Web Executive Seminars. We hold these "WES" sessions every few months, and they've proved quite popular this past year drawing hundreds of attendees to the National Press Club and thousands of views of the speakers' online slideshows. (All presenters' slides are posted for attendees first, and, later, everyone.)
The events are great networking opportunities too. Past attendees have told us that they really enjoy the time to talk to peers and lunch with the speakers afterwards.
These events are valuable for any nonprofit internet technology professional, but are organized to be most helpful to the nonprofit executive or web manager. These are not mechanical "how to" sessions -- although lots of practical tips emerge. Instead, they are designed to give the busy person a strong understanding of a particular topic and a practical framework or for how to approach the technology or issue within your own organization. Our 2007 sessions included sessions on usability, blogging, internet technology planning, online strategy, and global health.
For 2008, we are designing sessions that address the questions and concerns we hear most often when working with our client organizations. As web technologies mature, and organizations' online programs become more sophisticated, many of our discussions have turned to emerging trends and approaches. These include more sophisticated use of video, data and social networking. Plus, our post-event surveys show that usability is always on people's minds.

We are also offering a "
WES Pass" that allows you to attend any three of the above events for $50 per event. But you must buy the pass by April 30.
