
We were pretty excited to see the announcement yesterday that former UN Chief Kofi Annan will lead the new African initiative - the "Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa". The Alliance seeks to address poverty by helping small-scale farmers increase farm productivity and incomes, but focusing on "key aspects of African agriculture: from seeds, soil health and water to markets, agricultural education and policy." Annan will bring important high-level attention and energy to the initiative.
