I'm very excited about a great event we have lined up at the National Press Club on Thursday, February 22, with several case studies of how organizations are tailoring their online "user experience" to engage and succeed with their high value audiences. The panelists include:
Janet Stevens,
Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the office that handles risks such as meat or poultry contamination, "mad cow" disease, and other issues. She'll discuss how their web site plays a key role in the agency's work to protect public health through food safety and food defense. Janet will show how task-oriented content and services, satisfaction tracking, and customized usage reports contribute to enhancing user experience in support of their work.
Patrick Fitzgerald of
AARP's Member Relationship Management Initiative, will describe their efforts to segment web audiences along member demographics in order to create a more tailored experience for their valuable members.
Lawrence MacDonald,
Center for Global Development. Lawrence will speak about CGD's efforts to use the web to drive policy change with key policy stakeholders, including the media, policy-makers, the executive branch, and others. (Read more about
recent progress on one of CGD's priority initiatives, the use of "Advanced Market Commitments" (AMCs) to encourage R&D investments into vaccines for diseases that affect populations in developing countries.)
Nam-ho Park, Forum One's Managing Director of User Experience & Design, will illustrate useful approaches for analyzing audiences and how they can be translated into tangible online services and a robust user experience. He will also present the latest audience-centric research on engaging with influential groups online.
The event is open to the public - read more about
